About
What is CoP + COIL about?
Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) is a trend in several universities around the world, and seeks to connect professors and students from different countries for collaborative learning. The Community of Practice (CoP) methodology, applied to higher education, seeks to constitute groups with common goals, within one or more knowledge topics, to solve problems in an experiential learning perspective. This proposal intends to develop an international online collaborative learning program using the methodology of communities of practice, through the development and accreditation of undergraduate elective courses linked to FEA USP's departments and partner units.
The CoP + COIL combination is connected with FEA USP pedagogical projects, which seek to expand the role of students in their training, their critical vision and their behavioral skills, in addition to technical skills. The participation in projects that cross different time, place, language and disciplines, with a method that intensifies the interaction between participants, will enable students to build knowledge and skills to act as global citizens. This understanding represents a substantial increase in their professional and human training, as it prepares them for the internationalized environment of the labor market, and for the new phase of post-pandemic globalization.
